Manager of reggae artiste Windel Edwards Gyptian has issued a statement in response to rumours about the health of the Reggae star, clarifying that he is suffering from dehydration following a 60-day tour of Europe and Africa

IVOR Ruddock says after a hectic period of shows, interviews and promotion, the artiste said that he was feeling faint after arriving in New York City from Tanzania for two last performances.

Gyptian reported feeling faint and was taken to a hospital in the city.

St. George’s Grenada – Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas has called on all Grenadians to participate in public consultations to review Grenada’s draft Constitution.

“This is not a partisan or political issue. This is about Grenada and we must ensure we put in place a constitution that we all can be proud of,” the Prime Minister told the launch of the public consultation process Friday morning at the Grenada Trade Center.

He called on all organizations, community groups and individuals to use the opportunity of the consultative process to influence the new constitution which “should reflect what we perceive as the important tenets of our tri-island state”.

WASHINGTON, USA -- The Organization of American States (OAS) and the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has signed an agreement for an electoral observation mission to follow the general elections to be held in that country on December 13.

During a signing ceremony held at OAS headquarters in Washington DC, Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin stressed that electoral observation missions "are very important for the OAS, since they are an integral part of the political history of any country.”

Ramdin also noted the Organization’s willingness to support St Vincent and the Grenadines, not only in the electoral process but in the implementation of recommendations presented by the mission.

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) held its 42nd Meeting under the Chairmanship of Professor E Nigel Harris, Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies at the Beaches Resort and Spa on Providenciales Island, Turks and Caicos Islands on 3rd December 2010.  The Council wishes to record its appreciation to the Government and people of Turks and Caicos Islands for hosting the meeting and their warm hospitality.

Elderly clergyman robbed, murdered


An elderly clergyman was on Friday December 3rd  brutally slain in front of the Barnett Street Police Station by a brazen gunman who robbed him of his pouch.

The clergyman, Bishop Wilbert Peynado, 81, of the Montego Bay Church of Jesus Christ, resided at Gold Street in Granville.

According to the police, the bishop was attacked as he walked along the busy Barnett Street. He was said to be heading towards a bakery when he was attacked by a man, armed with a handgun. The churchman was shot in his head after he resisted the gunman's attempt to grab his black pouch.
