Drug Bust: Vincentian and two Antiguans arrested in St. Lucia Featured

Four people have been arrested along with almost 700 pounds of cannabis in the latest drug bust in St. Lucia on Friday.

Two Antiguan men – 27-year-old Mark JOHN and 30-year-old Kimron JOHN have been arrested in connection with the drug bust.

They are expected to appear in court on Tuesday along with 24 four-year-old Makeesha Henry of Antigua and Vincentian Steve BROWN, who is 35 years old.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) says 697 pounds of compressed cannabis, with a street value of 1.3 million dollars was discovered during Friday’s operation.

The Department says the marijuana originated from St. Vincent.

The drug haul came four days after ONDCP seized almost nine pounds of hashish oil during a raid of an apartment complex in the Creekside area.

Two Vincentian men are now on remand in prison after being denied bail when they appeared in court on Thursday in connection with the hashish.

Twenty-seven-year-old Junior Forde and 33-year-old Curtis Williams are due to return to court in October.
