Ex-TT Olympic sprinter jailed

FORMER TT sprinter Ato Modibo Stephens has been sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment in the Cayman Islands, after being found guilty of misuse of an ICT network, at the end of a trial regarding allegations that he acted inappropriately with a 14-year-old female athlete. Stephens was found not guilty of two counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency.

British engineer crushed at a cement plant

John Morris, 69, who was crushed to death on Tuesday after accidentally falling into an aggregate bin at an Asphalt plant in Princes Town, will be flown back to England for burial, businessman and close friend Krishna Lutchmeesingh of Lutchmeesingh Transport Contractors Limited revealed yesterday.
