The persistent leakage of effluent on the South Coast represents an environmental crisis of grave proportions, and the Barbados Water Authority’s inability to fix the problem to date is a damning indictment on Government’s handling of the matter.

LIAT, the Caribbean Airline, will next week increase its scheduled commercial flights into the territories affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The airline has been working to restore capacity to the affected territories as they continue their rebuilding efforts.

LIAT wishes to advise passengers that it has recommenced flights and there are some changes in the schedule due to the industrial action which took place on Friday 10th November.

Prisons Commissioner: We are being targeted

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, October 30, 2017. CCRIF SPC (formerly the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility) announced today that Trinidad & Tobago will receive a payout of US$7,007,886 (approximately TT$47.4 million) on its Excess Rainfall policy following a period of heavy rainfall between October 18 and October 20 2017.

The Minister of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development, Senator Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, has sought to set the record straight on the policy articulated for migrant workers when working in Barbados.

Due to an outbreak of conjunctivitis on Ward C2 at the St. Philip District Hospital, the Ministry of Health in Barbados is advising family members that visits to patients on that ward will not be allowed until the situation is resolved.
